London, November 8th 2018 - TEB Private Bank received the Best Private Bank in Wealth and Society in Turkey award at The Global Wealth and Society Awards 2018. The award ceremony was held in conjunction with the Future Wealth Summit 2018,at the Courthouse Hotel Shoreditch, London.

The London-based Global Wealth and Society Awards Programme seeks to recognise high and ultra-high net-worth individuals who use their wealth to bring about positive impacts on the society that they operate in, and the institutions that help them do so. Recipient of these awards underwent a stringent and comprehensive evaluation process, demonstrating the verve to deploy wealth in ways to bring about positive impacts on the society and at the same time make positive financial return on client investments.

Holding a significant market network in 71 out of 81 cities, TEB Private Bank was the first in the Turkey to establish a private banking house in 1989. It operates the largest private banking business among Turkish domiciled bank. Demonstrating a strong 27% year on year growth of its income during the first half of this year, TEB leveraged its large domestic network of 504 branches, 13 dedicated private banking centres and 11 branch corners with skilled private banking staff to offer a broad range of insurance and pension products, factoring, investment, asset management, and leasing services.

As first to roll out digital private banking services, TEB’s digital capabilities are demonstrated by its launch of networking apps such as TEB Özel Ipad and TEB Özel Network in meeting digital needs of customers. The platformsprovide an interactive social media platform to connect with like-minded people over technology, travel, finance, arts and even peer-to-peer transactions. A significant tangible outcome for TEB from its digital endeavors drove operational efficiency and minimized risks for its business.

Raised social entrepreneurship awareness in an exclusive partnership with an international NGO

Identifying social impact to create sustainable investment environment, the bank forged an exclusive partnership with a top international NGO, to increase social entrepreneurship awareness within the ecosystem. Ranked as fifth most internationally active NGO, Ashoka and TEB supported over fifteen high social impact social entrepreneurs in Turkey. The seriousness of its ESG focus is demonstrated through incorporation of social impact into its revenue models. Innovating from within, the bank was a key supporter of start-up programs to position itself as the first acting bank to offer angel investment services in Turkey.

At the awards ceremony, DBS Bank of Singapore was named the Best Private Bank in Wealth and Society in Asia-Pacific. Other Best Private Bank in Wealth and Management Award winning institutions include Indonesia’s Bank Mandiri, South Korea’s KB Kookmin Bank, Saudi Arabia’s Samba Financial Group, Thailand’s Kasikornbank and Turkey’s TEB Private Bank.
