China pledges to stop building coal-fired power plants overseas

President Xi on Tuesday reiterated China’s commitment to achieving carbon neutrality by 2060 and pledged to end the financing of new coal power plants overseas. However, fell short of showing similar support for the fossil fuel consumption at home, as coal still comprises a majority of the China’s electricity mix.
