With a career spanning three decades, Helen Crowley has been a key figure at the intersection of biodiversity conservation, nature-based solutions, and corporate sustainability. She played a pivotal role in developing and implementing the sustainability strategy for Kering SA, a leading global luxury group including brands like Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent and Alexander McQueen. Her work extends to influential sector-wide projects like the Fashion Pact and the Global Environment Facility's initiative aimed at transforming the fashion industry by addressing biodiversity loss, climate change, and ocean pollution.
Before joining Kering SA, Crowley's focus was on conservation strategy and program development at the Wildlife Conservation Society. Here, she contributed to market-based conservation approaches, enterprise development targeting underprivileged communities, and worked with governments on REDD+ programs and designing protected area networks. She also provided expert advice on nature risk and opportunities to businesses.
Currently, Crowley serves on the Boards of Textile Exchange and Wildlife Friendly Enterprise Network and acts as an Ambassador for Nature for the London College of Fashion. In 2020, during a sabbatical, she was the Liu-Walton Fellow and senior advisor for Resilient Supply Chains at Conservation International. Additionally, she advised the World Economic Forum’s Nature Action Agenda and co-chaired working groups for the Task Force on Nature-related Risk Disclosure and the UN Fashion Charter for Climate. Crowley is also a member of the GEF’s Private Sector Advisory Group and the World Economic Forum's Global Futures Council.
